At Justice Reform we have worked in more than 40 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and Oceania.

We engage personnally in an approach sensitive to the local traditions, cultures and values.O

Here are some examples of the projects we have contributed to over the years.

Palestine

In Palestine, the complex geopolitical situation bears no barrier to the local authorities to working tirelessly to promote human rights and rule of law reform.  We have worked with the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Social Develpment, Ministry of Interior and NGOs in East Jerusalem and the West Bank in child protection and justice reform, and supported the development of linkages between the formal and the customary justice systems.

Afghanistan

In Afghanistan, we have supported the reform of the justice system in various aspects: capacity building of judges, prosecutors, defence lawyers, police, and social workers. We have provided advice and technical inputs on rehabilitation procedures and protocols for young offenders, visited and reported on the situation in detention facilities in Kabul, Herat, Jalalabad, Mazar-e-Sharif, Kandahar and Taloqan.

South Sudan

In partnership with the Ministry of Social Affairs, we endeavoured to bring together the different stakeholders to improve the implementation of human rights in the justice system.

Haïti

The Haïtian criminal justice system has suffered from political turmoil and the impact of natural disasters for several decades. In some places, violence is exacerbated. I have supported some of the local partners and colleagues to address some of the long-term strategic issues faced by the country.

As member of the organizing committee for 2015 and 2018, I helped lead an extraordinary team made of UN agencies and non-governmental organizations working for human rights and justice to develop this global forum. We worked with leading experts, academics, governments and young people - over 950 participants from more than 100 countries – to present leading research and practice in the justice for children were presented and debated. This forged justice pathways worldwide.
